Morning Sounds At My House

Carnivale here is quiet today. Everyone is home with their families. So I thought I would record typical sounds of a Cuenca morning, but with less traffic noise. Then I had a surprise.

Hasta Luego! LT

  1. The parrots are beautiful and acted as if they were there to say, “Welcome to Cuenca!”

The street sweeper in the background was a bonus as well!

The “Quinouli” leftovers made an incredible fritatta. I’ll try to post it tonight but if not, in the manana.

  2. Linda, we live right in front of you next to the Hotel La Casona (the pretty pastel colored building towards town) in the Edificio San Andres on the top floor. We hear the parrots ALL the time. That is the quietest that I have ever heard them. GREAT pics!! And you’re right about how quiet it has been over the last couple of days! Bring on Carnavale every week if it will be this quiet! Sue

    • Ah Sue, hadn’t checked my comments in a week. I noticed your building the other day. It is pretty. Where are ya’ll from? Been here long?

    • That is exactly right, Mary. I hope you enjoyed your stay here. If you posted about it, I must have missed it while I was trying to get my apartment set up. I’d love to read about your impressions. LT

  4. Beautiful! I love what you are doing. Such a great adventure to learn a new language and live in such a beautiful place. I wish you only happiness.
